Kevin McCloud

Kevin McCloud is best known for the internationally acclaimed Channel 4 series Grand Designs, now in its 27th year and broadcast worldwide, alongside spin-offs including Grand Designs: The Streets and Grand Designs: House of the Year. In 2015, Grand Designs won the BAFTA for Best Feature, and its UK reach now exceeds 32 million viewers. Alongside the 27th series, Kevin launched the Grand Designs: Deconstructed podcast, co-hosted with Greg James, offering behind-the-scenes insight into the programme and the stories behind its most ambitious builds.

Kevin has fronted a wide range of television projects for Channel 4, including The Great Climate Fight, Man-Made Home, Kevin’s Supersized Salvage and Kevin McCloud’s Escape to the Wild. He also wrote and presented Grand Tour of Europe and spent two and a half weeks in Dharavi for Slumming It, part of Channel 4’s 2010 India season. This spring, he launches a new Channel 4 series, Kevin McCloud’s Classic Car Road Trips, which sees him travelling across Europe, driving iconic classic cars through some of the continent’s most beautiful landscapes.

An author and long-standing advocate for sustainable development, Kevin champions contextual design, the historic environment and ecological construction. He is an Honorary Fellow of Cardiff University, the RIBA and the Institute of Chartered Foresters, a Fellow of WWF-UK, and was awarded an MBE in 2014 for services to architecture and sustainability.
