Louis Theroux is a genre‑defining documentary filmmaker and presenter, best known for his deeply immersive and empathetic programmes that explore the intricate and often contentious facets of human existence.
These include his BAFTA‑winning series Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends and When Louis Met…, alongside a string of acclaimed and award‑winning documentaries such as The Most Hated Family in America, Miami Mega Jail, Altered States, and the feature‑length film My Scientology Movie.

In 2025 Louis released Settlers, a documentary which examined the growing community of religious-nationalist Israelis who have settled in the occupied West Bank.
The Louis Theroux Podcast launched in 2023. Each episode features an in-depth conversation between Louis and a fascinating guest including Shania Twain, PinkPantheress, Tracey Emin, Willem Dafoe, Steve Coogan just to name a few.
Louis has won numerous awards, including three BAFTAs, an RTS award, and Grierson’s Trustees’ Award, and in 2019. He co-founded the television production company, Mindhouse, alongside Arron Fellows and Nancy Strang.
