Richard Bacon is a broadcaster, journalist, author and format creator. He is known for his unique interviewing style and warm, entertaining and no-nonsense nature.
Richard spent his formative broadcasting years on Blue Peter and later moved to C4's The Big Breakfast. He hosted radio shows for BBC 6 Music, Capital FM, XFM and built a devoted audience for his long-running afternoon show on Radio 5 Live. His rolling coverage of the 7/7 London Underground bombings won Capital Radio the Sony Radio Gold award for breaking news.
Richard has written for publications including Esquire and The Sun and his debut book A Series of Unrelated Events was published in 2013. He has also appeared as himself in both The Thick Of It and The Dog Thrower.
After a move to the US, in 2016, Richard hosted National Geographic’s flagship current affairs/talkshow hybrid, Explorer, which was broadcast to 170 countries worldwide. More recently, Richard has created new entertainment formats which have now been sold around the world, including The Hustler, This Is My House and I Literally Just Told You.
